Orchid, if you place it here it blooms for 10 years: what is the ideal place in the house

The orchid, an exquisite plant, can thrive in full bloom for an extended period by adhering to a few straightforward guidelines.

Orchids, with their unique and captivating beauty, hail from equatorial climates but have successfully adapted to varying temperatures, gracing our homes with vibrant and sometimes softly hued colors. Belonging to the Orchidaceae family, these flowers encompass numerous species, some solely cultivated, while others thrive naturally in the wild.

Primarily epiphytic plants, orchids boast aerial roots, enabling them to inhabit tree trunks or rocks, drawing essential water and nutrients from decomposing organisms. In our home environments, the prevalent species often feature roots that are meant to be buried.

Whether acquiring an orchid or receiving it as a gift, understanding its care is essential to prevent premature fading and ensure its prolonged vitality. Caring for an orchid is not overly complicated, but specific precautions must be taken.

Firstly, it’s crucial to recognize that orchids favor well-lit and humid conditions, reflecting their tropical origins. However, they are not intended for open-ground planting. Instead, finding an optimal position within the confines of our homes is necessary. The orchid thrives in areas facing south or east.

The ideal location to plant our orchid

Requires abundant brightness, with direct sunlight avoided to prevent withering. Insufficient light is a primary factor that can lead to an orchid’s decline. Maintaining temperatures between 23 – 24°C as a maximum and 16 – 17°C as a minimum is also essential.

Humidity levels must be carefully regulated, as excess moisture can damage flowers, while insufficient humidity may cause leaves to wrinkle and turn yellow. An ideal humidity level of around 70% is conducive, making bathrooms or kitchens suitable locations. Placing a saucer filled with expanded clay or gravel can help provide the necessary humidity. Adding a small amount of water to evaporate and maintain root humidity is beneficial. Alternatively, spraying the plant with demineralized or rainwater in the morning is advisable. Minimal and timely irrigations, only when the soil is dry, are crucial – once a week in winter and 2 or 3 times in summer. Morning watering is preferred, and careful attention to avoid stagnation is necessary to prevent root rot. By following these simple guidelines, you can witness your orchid flourishing for many years to come.w tips and see our orchid flourish for many years.
